Manizales Travel Tips

Things To Do In Chipre Manizales

In this blog post, we’re going to talk about what you can do in Chipre Manizales. For an overview, Chipre is a part of town that is on the West side of downtown. If you enjoy walking, it is an easy walk up the hill from downtown and on the way, you’ll have tons of places to stop for drinks, helados, and other assorted treats. All the while, you’ll have beautiful views of Manizales on your left. See the map below pointing out exactly where it is.

Food and Drink

On the weekends, Chipre will be very alive. However, in my opinion, Chipre should not be your first stop on a Friday or Saturday night. If you are looking to sit down and have a nice dinner, I would recommend Cable or Milan first, and for some fun after dinner, head over to Chipre. Chipre has a handful of bars and places to eat but it really is a younger crowd. You might find it hard to find a nice table with service there, however, it 100% can be found. The selection is just a little more space than Cable and Milan.

Chipre’s main attraction

Chipre’s best asset is its mirador. Be sure to bring a jacket because, in the evening, this area is known to bring cool breezes and temperatures around 15-16 Celcius (59 degree Farenheight). Every evening, there are about 3 dozen tiny food truck/trailers parked along this mirador with people selling coffees, beers, ice cream, sandwiches, arepas and much more. You’ll see performers with speakers, people dancing, there’s quite a bit going on in this tiny mirador strip.

The Views

The views from Chipre are amazing. There is a glass separator from the main walkway so its pretty safe. There is plenty of seating. But during peak times, it might be a little tough to find a space.
